Cord Cutting & Healing
A Manual to Cord cutting and Healing.
Vigorous cord cutting is an effective exercise that involves severing unhelpful or draining energetic connections to individuals, locations or events of the past. These are not physical cords, but rather presupposed to be subconscious energetic connections that develop between people. Whereas there are cords, which signify healthy and loving relationships, there are those cords that will drain your energy and you find yourself stuck, tired or emotionally entangled with a past incident or a past person. By the end of this practice, you are aiming to consciously detach these unhealthy attachments to enable you to reclaim your personal energy and progress with a clean and free mind.
The Awareness of Energetic Cords
The energetic cords are formed as a result of time and may arise when formed through different interactions. They are usually best developed during violent emotional experiences, including:
- Relationship experience: Unresolved feelings of a previous relationship, years on.
- Family dynamics: Open conflicts or emotional dependencies.
- Conflict or trauma: This is a chronic sense of bitterness or hurt by a challenging circumstance.
- Unmet expectations: The feeling of duty or obligation to something or somebody.
Breaking these cords does not imply that you are breaking the person out of your life and neither does it imply that you are destroying a working relationship. Rather it is that you are cutting off the energetic drain and loosening the hold which is no longer in your best interest.
Cord Cutting and Healing Guided Meditation
The practice of this visualization is possible in a calm environment where you will not be interrupted.
Preparation and Grounding: Seat position. Close the eyes and take three deep breaths, breathing calmness and peace, and tension and stress out. Imagine roots sprouting out of the bottom of your spine which keeps you in touch with the ground. This will make you feel established.
- Find the Relationship: Visualize the person, place or circumstance you want to get out of in the eye of the mind. In front of you, see them very plain. Admit what part they have played in your life and the vitality they are.
- Visualize the Energetic Cord: Visualize now a cord running out of your body into theirs. This rope is a figurative expression of the vital connection among you. See how it looks, whether thick or thin? Is its color bright or murky? Is it fastened to your heart, or stomach or some other part of your body? Just look without making a judgment.
- Cut the Cord: Visualizing with a firm loving intention imagine you are cutting something with a tool in your hand. This may be a slashing sword of light, a pair of scissors or a burning flame. Now you feel how heavy this tool is in your hand. This tool will cut the cord very fast and cleanly when you are ready. You may do this, and say, either aloud or to yourself, I sever this bond to my supreme benefit, with love and gratitude. I reclaim my energy now."
- Heal and Reclaim Your Energy: Once the cord is cut, you can imagine the end of the cord that is connected with your body healing using a beautiful and pure white or golden light. This avoids reconnection of the cord and helps to save your energy field. Behold the energy that was running in the cord returning now to thee, and giving you new strength and energy.
- Release with Gratitude: Wave love and gratitude towards yourself and whatever the situation you have just released. Recognize the teachings and send them off on their way. Get another couple of deep breaths, feeling much lighter and freer. Gradually open your eyes and get yourself back in the present moment.
Post-Cutting Care
Once you have cut a cord, you should take care of your energy. The change can be subtle or dramatic. Whichever the case, these practices would assist in the healing.
- Hydrate: Take as much water as possible to get your body to absorb the energy change.
- Rest: Have some rest and recuperate.
- Journal: Record anything that occurred to you during the meditation. This may offer additional information into the healing process.
- Defend your space: Keep on with habits such as space clearing in order to ensure that you are in a supportive and positive surrounding.
